Glasgow

Good Morning from Glasgow,

The Winky Bridge

We arrived early this morning to an overcast sky and 1-2 hours of sleep.  The plane trip was only 5 1/2 hours and we had 2 meals so not much time to sleep.  Today is a holiday in Scotland (May day) so the roads were clear otherwise the highway would have been “stationary” or “nose-to-rear”.

We met our group at the hotel and surprise, our rooms were ready!!  YAY

We went on the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus around the city.  It was a double decker bus with headphones and a channel with different languages.  It was informative and we got to see the whole city.

Armadillo Building

We got off at the Winky Bridge and the Armadillo building and walked around.  Then we went to the ship and the Riverside Museum and ate lunch.

We returned to the hotel and after an excellent nap, we went to the National Piping Museum and dinner.  The bag pipes are very loud!  I watched the piper and it also looks quite difficult to play – you have to keep the bag filled with air, keep a consistent pressure on the bag to get the air through the reeds and your fingers have to be moving to direct the notes.  Kristopher gave it a try.  We ate a great dinner here.

Kristopher worked out in the hotel exercise room but everyone else was off to sleep.

Jet lag – not my favorite.
