Taste of Scotland Dinner – Edinburgh

This show was offered as an optional excursion on our tour.

When we disembarked the coach, we walked around a bit and looked at the grounds and the peacock.  After the piper played for us (he reminded us of a friend from church – Gene), we entered the building and found our seat.  We had 2 bottles of red wine, 2 bottles of white wine and tap water on the table.

There was whiskey available to purchase and maybe some other spirits but I am not certain.

We had 9 people squeezed around each table and our group was at the back of the room.

It was fun but it was a 100% tourist show.

Dinner was 4 courses – a starter, Haggis, main meal and Cranachan for dessert.  The Haggis was good, the rest of the meal was ok but some of the beef was a bit dry.

There were singers, dancers, children performers, a violinist, a piper & an accordian player.  They also use a large video screen to show video of some landmarks around Scotland.

This was a fun night.

I am familiar with tourist attractions in Orlando and have gone to a few dinner shows that were totally for tourists.  This one was a bit overpriced at $95 per person (included the bus to/from hotel).
